Also, you will be happy to hear that we have applied a Quick Registration feature. This feature will allow users to un-install Viber, and when re-installing Viber, with the same device and the same telephone number, Viber will not need to re-enter the access code.

The version contains a major bug fix from v2.1.5 concerning 3g connection, and several additional bugs. We also added a small feature allowing users to search their messages history. Now you can easily find out who recently sent you "I love you".

Viber adds Picture and Location Messaging to its Communications App

The Most Popular Mobile Communications App Now Provides Numerous Enhancements in Viber 2.1

Viber, the revolutionary mobile application that offers you free phone calls and text messaging to other Viber users over 3G and Wi-Fi, announces today the latest version of its application, introducing your much requested enhancements to its voice and messaging service. The new version brings a new voice engine, picture messages and location tagged messages along with multiple other enhancements that significantly expand Viber's capabilities.

The first enhancement you'll notice is improved voice quality thanks to the new voice engine in Viber 2.1. This update will provide Viber users with HD quality VoIP calling and will improve call quality over networks with low bandwidth such as EDGE networks.

Easy Photo Sharing

You, the Viber users, have reacted enthusiastically to the app's free text messaging feature, sending billions of free messages to other Viber users, and today's enhancements provide you with even more options. Sending a photo message is simple, all that you need to do is tap the photo icon next the text entry field. You can choose to either take a photo or to select one from the photo library. This system will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has sent photo messages from smartphones ensuring that the feature will be super easy to use.

You also have the option to share photos via email, on Facebook, or directly to other Viber users. This new feature gives you multiple new options to share and communicate with your friends and expands Viber's role as a vital communications tool.

Location Sharing

Additionally, Viber is introducing location-tagged messages that allow you to quickly identify your location to the recipient. This allows for a broad spectrum of possibilities and will simplify many common tasks such as giving directions. Turning the feature on and off is as simple as tapping the location icon next to the send button. When the feature is turned on, all messages are tagged with the user's location.

Improved UI and Other Enhancements

Viber users love the app's easy to use UI and in Viber 2.1 the interface has been refined, ensuring that Viber will be even easier to pick up and use. The messages tab has been moved to the left of the screen, making it simple for you to access the features that you want to use. Also, you can easily make free Viber calls right from an existing text message thread thanks to the addition of a new "Free Call" button.
