If you tried sending a message but your contact didn't receive it, and you see an exclamation mark next to it - you have the option of re-sending it. Simply do the followign and you're good to go!

Tap on the re-send icon (the image of the arrow going in a circle) to the left of the message that was not sent.
Once the message is sent, you will see a check mark [ ] next to it.
