BlackBerry: WiFi wake up
The Viber application works like a regular mobile phone. Viber needs to be connected to the Internet in order to send and receive text messages. When your Wifi is asleep, and Viber is still open, Viber will awaken the WiFi in order to establish an internet connection. If you turn off Wifi, Viber will not turn it back on. In other words, Viber only searches for a WiFi connection if the WiFi option is disabled on your device. For the best results, leave Viber running in the background. This way, it doesn’t burden your device’s system resources or drain your battery. Battery consumption test results: Devices tested were connected via a router with no active internet connection for 16 hours. Results: Device without Viber installed, the battery consumption was 9% Device with Viber installed, the battery consumption was 11% Total battery consumption with Viber running 2% If you don't wish to receive any messages, you can exit Viber by simply tapping on the 'More' tab at the bottom of your Viber app and then selecting 'Exit.'
